Big band, big day

Don’t labor over what to do this Labor Day. The official touring big band of the U.S. Army is coming to the ‘Boro. The internationally acclaimed Jazz Ambassadors will be in concert at the city park at 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 1. The 19-piece ensemble is expected to blow the crowd away with an eclectic repertoire of big band swing, bebop, Latin, jazz, Dixieland, vocals, and patriotic favorites. The family-friendly concert is absolutely free, thanks to a sponsorship from The True Citizen, the Burke County Board of Commissioners, City of Waynesboro, Downtown Development Authority, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and the Waynesboro-Burke Concert Series.
