Waynesboro police are on the hunt for 25-year-old Shaquan Aamad Hines.

He is accused of firing a single bullet into the chest of Dominique Dukes, 23, last Wednesday night.

According to Lt. Teddy Jackson of the Waynesboro Police Department, the two men had been arguing in the Magnolia Acres parking lot around 11:30 p.m.

“The victim was trying to walk away from the altercation when Hines came up behind him and slapped him,” Lt. Jackson said. “He fell to the ground and the boy (Hines) shot him in the left upper chest.”

Dukes, who was bleeding profusely, walked to a nearby apartment and asked a friend to drive him to the emergency room. He was airlifted to Georgia Regents Medical Center with injuries that were considered serious at the time but are no longer life threatening.

Lt. Jackson said the wound was through-and-through with the bullet exiting through his arm pit area.

Hines is wanted for aggravated assault and other charges. Police say he is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 706-554-8029.
