THURSDAY, AUG. 14

A Healthcare Reform Seminar will be held, 11 a.m.-noon, at the Burke County Library. The session, which is hosted by the Burke County Chamber of Commerce, is geared toward businesses and how new regulations affect companies and their employees. There is no cost to attend but registration is requested for planning purposes. Call 706-554-5451.

Medlin Music Ministry will host an open house, 4:30-6 p.m., offering free hotdogs and a free concert, at Hebron Baptist Church (220 East Sixth Street, Waynesboro). Classes for the fall begin on Aug. 28.

SATURDAY, AUG. 16

Free Lunch will be offered to the public, 11:30 a.m.-1p.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 841 Jones Avenue in Waynesboro. A limited number of bags of groceries will be available on a first-come-firstserved basis.

TUESDAY, AUG. 19

Waynesboro Lions Club will meet, 5:30 p.m., at the Lakeview Restaurant. All members and those interested are encouraged to attend.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 27

Free diabetic teaching will be offered in the Burke Medical Center classroom, 6-8 p.m. The course is designed to help diabetics learn how to better control their diabetes through healthy eating. Participants should eat before they come and are encouraged to bring along their partners or anyone who helps with food preparation. Space is limited and preregistration is encouraged.
