Edmund Burke Academy students will give it all they’ve got Saturday night for two good causes. Spartan Rock Café kicks off at 5 p.m. with silent and live auctions. According to organizer Kristy Smith, students in each grade have collaborated to provide a special item which will go to the highest bidder at a live auction with auctioneer Lester Post. The talent show begins at 6 p.m. and will feature 18 students. Proceeds from both auctions and the show will go toward the school’s new concession stand and to support a team of students and staff on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic this summer. The group has volunteered to work with missionaries John and Donna Bearden, formerly of Waynesboro, doing construction and faith ministry in poverty stricken villages. Tickets to the Spartan Rock Café are $5 at the door. Pictured from last year's fundraiser are Addie McClellan, Will Dasher and Zaylie Baker.
