Area police and the FBI are still investigating a robbery of the Hephzibah branch of the Sardis based Southern Bank.

Monday at about 3 p.m. two unidentified men wearing masks entered the bank and demanded money. They left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and at press time had not been apprehended.

According to various news outlets, the men were described as black, 30-35 years old and between 5’10" and 6’ tall.

Though there are similarities , there is no information at this time confirming the robbery was linked to the hold-up at the Waynesboro branch of Capital City Bank on October 16.
