Jimmy Flakes

Jimmy Flakes “Jim”, 83, entered into rest Saturday, July 6, 2013 at his home. He was born on July 27, 1929 to the late J.L. Flakes and Maria Flakes. He was the owner and operator of Flakes Auto and Wrecker Service for 50 years. Jim was a member of Botsford Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline F. McLeRoy; and 3 brothers, Ray Flakes, Leroy Flakes, and Palmer Flakes.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary M. Flakes; 7 children, James E. Flakes (Lynn) of Waynesboro, Jimmy Flakes (Deryl) of Waynesboro, Danny E. Flakes (Shirley) of Waynesboro, Ricky Flakes (April) of Waynesboro, Brenda F. Holden (Kenny) of Grovetown, Donna F. Stuckey of Wagener, SC, and Tim D. Flakes (Tammy) of Waynesboro; son-in-law, Charles McLeRoy of Waynesboro; 2 brothers, John Flakes of Waynesboro and Douglas Flakes of Hephzibah; 5 sisters, Dorothy McCullough of Waynesboro, Mildred Thompson of Hiltonia, Betty Oglesby of Martinez, Faye Herrington of Waynesboro, and Nell Black of Girard; many grand, great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 8 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, July 9 at the funeral home. Rev Wayne Dixon will officiate. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Flakes, Travis Flakes, Jimmy “J.J.” Flakes, T.J. Flakes, Jessie Stuckey, Stephen Stuckey, Billy Hornsby, and Chris Long.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Botsford Baptist Church Building Fund, 825 Botsford Church Rd, Waynesboro, GA 30830.
