A Youth Football Camp for ages 5-13 is being hosted by the Sportsmen Social Club through July 19 at the Burke County Recreation Department. For more information contact club members Curtis Miles, 706-799-0475, or Wayne Carpenter, 706-799-4947.

THURSDAY, JULY 11

The Waynesboro Lions Club will meet, 5:30 p.m., at The Lake Restaurant. All members and those interested in joining are encouraged to attend.

FRIDAY, JULY 12

Police K-9s will be at the Burke County Library, 10:30 a.m., along with Waynesboro PD handlers who will demonstrate how their highly trained dogs fight crime.

SATURDAY, JULY 13

A Teen Rap Session will be held, 11 a.m., at the Burke County Library. The event will focus on good decision making and life choices. The session is sponsored by the Life Club and features guest speaker Montez Dove, a youth mentor from Augusta.

MONDAY, JULY 15

Part 1: The Library for College Bound Students will be held, 2-3:30 p.m., at the Burke County library. The program will teach teens to about library resources and transitioning to college level

WEDNESDAY, JULY 17

Bike Night will be sponsored by the Southern Cruisers Riding Club, 6-9 p.m., at Sonic Drive-In in Waynesboro. There will be a live DJ, displays and a raffle benefitting the Center for New Beginnings.

THURSDAY, JULY 18

Part 2: College or Not will be held, 2-3:30 p.m. at the Burke County Library. The program is designed to introduce teens to different college degree programs and teach them other basics about universities.

WHAT’S NEXT is a complimentary service for non-profit Burke County groups hosting free public events. A fundraising event with an admission fee may be included for $10 per week, paid in advance.
