Three teens charged in Waynesboro burglary

Three Waynesboro teens face felony charges in connection to a burglary on Mamie Joe Lane.

A 14-year-old boy was taken into custody Monday after he was linked to the Oct. 11 break-in.

The juvenile, who is the nephew of the victim, is accused of taking an estimated $4,200 in jewelry, according to Sgt. Sean Cochran, an investigator for the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.

After interviews with the boy, deputies also jailed his acquaintances Brice Roundtree, 19, and Brendell Little, 18.

“Both adults admitted to purchasing stolen items from the juvenile and, in turn, selling them to a gold scrap buyer in Augusta,” Sgt. Cochran said, noting the two rings and necklace only brought $300.

All three offenders are charged with a felony count of theft by receiving stolen property.
