Thomas Grove Thomas Grove Baptist Church will have its annual Women’s Day program will be held 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 9. Barbara Gordon, a native of Burke County and editor of the Metro County Courier, will be the guest speaker for the occasion. The Rev. Willie B. Tomlin, pastor, invites the public.

Rosemont Heights Baptist Church will celebrate its 47th annual homecoming Sunday, Oct. 9. The Rev. Earl Saxon, a former pastor at Rosemont, will deliver the sermon at the 11 a.m. worship service. The church’s annual Heritage offering will also be taken to help Rosemont

move closer to ground breaking at its new campus on Highway 25 North. A covered dish meal will be served in the fellowship hall following the service. Sunday school and small group Bible studies begin at 9:45 a.m. Everyone is welcome at Rosemont.

Second Bynes

Second Bynes Grove Missionary Baptist Church will have its fourth Deacon Appreciation Day 10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 9. Deacon Terry and Beatrice Roberson of Ebenezer Baptist will be the master and mistress of ceremonies. The Rev. James F. Lewis, pastor, invites the public.

Green Grove AMEZ Church will have its annual camp meeting will be held 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 9. Sunday school begins at 10:30 a.m. The sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Nehemiah Dishmond, pastor of Second Phillip Grove Baptist in Rosier. The Rev. Samuel Grant, pastor, invites the public.

Gospel Tones

The Gospel Tones of Midville will celebrate its 40th anniversary 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Burke County High School auditorium. The doors will open at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from any member of the Gospel Tones for $5.

First Baptist – Millen First Baptist Church in Millen, located at 307 Old Waynesboro Road, will celebrate its 77th youth anniversary 11:15 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 23. The speaker will be Randy Cooper, assistant principal at Jenkins County Elementary School and coach of the Lady Eagles basketball team. The Rev. Allen Webb, pastor, invites the public.

Gospel Explosions will celebrate its 20th anniversary 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, at the Gospel Explosions Ministries, located at 431 Old Sardis Road. Admission is free.

Phillip Grove Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 44th youth church anniversary 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, with guest speaker minister Tonya H. Bradburn of Hammond Grove Word Power Ministry in North Augusta, S.C.

Forest Hill

Forest Hill Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its ushers’ anniversary 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 9. Pastor James O. Strowbridge of Franklin Covenant will be the speaker. New Springfield Baptist Church will have its annual church fellowship with Greater Young Zion Baptist in Augusta 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 9. The sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Ellis A. Godbee Jr. A meal and fellowship will follow. Pastor William B. Blount Sr. invites the public.

Noah’s Ark Baptist Church will have deacon ordination service 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, for Oliver Frazier Sr. and Virgil Lynch Jr. The Rev. Anthony Booker of New Hope Baptist in Harlem will be the guest speaker. The Rev. Karlton Howard, pastor, invites the public.

Revealing Word

Revealing Word Fellowship Ministries Church will have an Apostolic & Prophetic Conference 7:30 nightly, Oct.5-7, at the church, located on 8th Street in Waynesboro. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at Maranatha Christian Center, located at 1124 Highway 25 North in Waynesboro. Apostles and prophets from throughout the CSRA will deliver the evening messages. Prophetess Sheryl Jones Dillard of Atlanta will be the guest for Saturday’s service. The public is invited.

Bible Fellowship

Bible Fellowship will host the 53rd anniversary of The Byrd Family gospel singers 10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 9. The guest speaker will be the Rev. J. Stephen Conn, with music provided by The Bryd Family, Dusty Aleman (The Singing Cowboy from Oklahoma), world-renowned pianist Ray Jones and the BFC singers and musicians. A free barbecue dinner will be served at noon, and an old fashioned afternoon gospel singing will be held at 1:30 p.m.
