From the Blotter

Childish ways

A Farmers Bridge Road resident called deputies when he came home from vacation to find his ex-babysitter in his home during the wee hours of the night. When he asked her to leave, she threw a box of chicken to the floor and made her getaway in a go-cart with another man, according to a report filed at the Burke County Sheriff‘s Office. Home fires burning

An argument over a River Road mobile home got heated.

A woman told deputies a man who set her home up was reportedly demanding payment for his services but she insisted the job wasn’t finished. She told deputies he said he “did not have a problem burning a house down,” according to the report filed. She was advised of the warrant process. Packing a punch A departing roommate told officers she was assaulted as she tried to pack her belongings and leave.

According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Department, the Lee Street resident said she tried to leave the home after an argument over rent money but her roomy started punching her and stabbed her with an unknown object. Officers observed a small cut to the victim’s wrist that required stitches but saw no sign of the alleged offender. Losing their cool

Brazen burglars turned the heat up on church members across the county. Deputies received calls about stolen or stripped air conditioning units at three churches. Two units were entirely missing from Bryant Grove Baptist on Highway 24 West, and copper was ripped from a larger one. The copper was also stolen from two units that thieves dismantled at Crossroads Baptist Church on Winter Road. A central heating and air unit at Rosier Grove Baptist in Midville was stripped of its copper as well.
