Boss Hog tickets on sale, online

Tickets to the 2011 Boss Hog State Championship Cook-off are now on sale at all Waynesboro banks and online at www.etix.com.

This year’s big showdown, which is sanctioned by the Kansas City

Barbeque Society, is slated for

May 13-14 at the Mr. Golf

Carts Warehouse and Distribution Center in Waynesboro.

According to organizers, the 42 spots for competitive cook teams were claimed by mid-February and include a number of grill masters who have been featured on Food Network and

TLC.

The two-day event will include live music from the Chris Lane Band, Jason White and the Southbound Band, a People’s Choice barbeque contest and free rides and inflatables for the kids. Children 12 and under get in free both days.

Proceeds benefit the Downtown Organization of Retailers (DOOR), a not-for-profit volunteer group that promotes downtown Waynesboro and hosts the annual cook-off.

TICKET PRICES  Friday, May 13: $10 in advance, $15 at the gate  Saturday, May 14: $5  People’s Choice: $10 – available at First National Bank of Waynesboro and at the gate. Limited to first 200 participants.
