Burke County High School’s boys basketball team will start up the season Friday night.

The season was slightly delayed as the Bears finished a deep run into the state football playoffs, but the basketball schedule will resume as planned this weekend.

Many of the Bears traded in their cleats and pads for gym shorts and hi-tops in less than a week.

The Bears and Lady Bears will host Greenbrier Friday with the girls game beginning at 7 p.m. and the boys immediately following. Junior varsity games will begin at 4 p.m.

The teams will hit the road next Tuesday to play Swainsboro. Tip off in the varsity girls game is set for 6 p.m. and the boys game will follow.
