ASU student initiated into prestigious honor society

From Staff Reports

Quishawna L. Roberson of Waynesboro was among more than 85 Augusta State University students who were selected to be inducted in to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society. Roberson is a graduate student at ASU.

The ASU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi held its initiation ceremony on Friday, Dec. 3, in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Ballroom.

Phi Kappa Phi has chapters on more than 300 college and university campuses. Since its founding in 1897, more than a million members have been initiated, with about 30,000 being inducted each year. Membership is by invitation only to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and top 7.5 percent of juniors. Faculty, professional staff, and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction also qualify.
