Sara Ann Kirby

Sara Ann Kirby, 68, of Waynesboro, Ga., entered into rest Friday night, Aug. 27, 2010 at her home.

A native of MillenGa.,she was born Aug. 21, 1942 to

the late

WilliH e n r Beulah McMillan Hillis.

She worked at Samson’s Manufacturing for 11 years, and was a member of Rosemont Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Leon Kirby; a grandson, Mitchell Drew Oglesby; and three brothers, Sandy Hillis, James Barefield and Roy Barefield.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jud Kirby; five children, Ronnie Kirby of East Prairie, MO, Mary Oglesby (Mitchell), of Waynesboro, Sandra “Sissy” Reeves (Joe) of Sardis, William Franklin Kirby (Lisa) of Sikeston, MO, and Deborah Kirby (Wayne) of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Ronnie Kirby Jr., Elizabeth Kirby, Stephanie Kirby, James Oglesby, Christy Hobbs, Brandy Kirby, Christopher Schugard and Krista Schugard; four great grandchildren; a brother, Mack Hillis of Sardis; and a sister, Opal Munns of Alexander.

The family received friends on Monday, Aug. 30, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral was conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating. Interment followed at Burke Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Christopher Schugard, James Oglesby, Johnathan Hobbs, T.J. Oglesby, Billy Sikes and Donnie Sikes.
