Lady Cubs grab region title

Burke County Middle School has another trophy to add to its case.

The Lady Cubs have nabbed the Coastal Empire Region Championship title on the basketball court. After going 6-2 during the regular season, the girls defeated South Effingham 47-17 for the region trophy.

The BCMS girls are coached by Larrell Lewis and Mia Lakes.

The BCMS boys team also finished up a solid season on the court. The Cubs finished second in the region after a 25- 23 loss in the championship game to William James Middle School from Statesboro. The BCMS boys are coached by Larry Keller, Roderick Hilton and Travis Thomas.
