Mrs. Agnes Ivey Rogers
Agnes Ivey Rogers, 83, of Wrens, Ga., loving wife to the late Earl Rogers Sr., entered into rest Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were to be held at Reedy Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 11a.m. with the Reverends John Jenkins and Byron Twiggs officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Miss Agnes was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. She was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church where she served the Lord many years in different capacities – Sunday School teacher, treasurer, etc. She was the manager of Rogers Service Station & Grocery after which she worked for M.W. Callaway & Sons which is now James Funeral Home until September 2008.
She was the epitome of the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31. She loved her family with all her heart but her first love was Jesus, her Lord and Savior with whom she now resides forever.
Miss Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Belle Hobbs and Bruce R. Ivey; her son, Jimmy Rogers; and her brother, W.R. “Bill” Ivey.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Jane) Rogers of Waynesboro Ga., and Louise R. (Palmer) Hadden of Warrenton Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn (Hanson) Josey; two sisters, her twin Alice (Billy) Cross of Lakeland Fla., and Doris Smith of Augusta Ga.; a special sisterin law, Vivian W. Rogers; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to her doctor, Dr. James M. Ford; her pastor, the Rev. John Jenkins; her beloved friend and employer, Edward C. James; and all the staff of Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
