Vogtle expansion brings business opportunities

Local businesses seeking to capitalize on potential opportunities provided by the Plant Vogtle expansion may learn how at upcoming meetings.

Several supplier information meetings are scheduled to take place over the next couple of months, beginning with one at Burke County High School on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m.

Georgia Power, Southern Nuclear and The Shaw Group are hosting the meetings to familiarize local vendors with the procurement process for the new construction at Plant Vogtle.

At these sessions, potential suppliers will learn more about the expansion project and find out about available opportunities to provide products, materials and services to support construction.

The meetings are open to anyone interested in becoming a supplier, but participants must register in advance at www.georgiapower.com/supplier/. Specific information on those meetings can also be found at the website. Space is limited on a first-come, first-serve basis.
