To good homes

Nearly three-dozen rescued dogs and cats have new homes … in New England. Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue recently transported 33 rescued and fostered animals to adoptive families waiting for them up north. Right, Sandy McFeat, a humane educator with Old Fella, comforts two puppies as they prepare for transport. Above, drivers begin loading the van for the long haul. According to volunteer Kelly Jenkins, the long ride and tight squeeze are well worth it, considering the demand for dogs in New England and promise of a "forever family" for so many of Burke County's strays.
