Miss Brittany Alicia Holshouser

Miss Brittany Alicia Holshouser, 16, entered into rest Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services were Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at Hopeful Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Glover officiating.

Brittany lay in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral services.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Brittany just ended her junior year at Burke County High School where she was in the FFA and Drama Club. She was a member and attended Hopeful Baptist Church.

She was very artistic and loved to sing and write. Her loving spirit and bright smile will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her parents, Christopher Matthew and Julie Holshouser Southerland; her brothers, Christopher Matthew Southerland Jr. and Spencer Myles Southerland; her sister, Michelle Morris; her grandparents, Renate Holshouser, Gerald Holshouser and Joan Culbreth; her aunts and uncles, Jessica Holshouser of Hephzibah, Ga., Dennis (Rhonda) Holshouser of Hephzibah, and Dale Holshouser; and her many cousins.

Pallbearers were Dennis Holshouser, Matthew Holshouser, J.D. Sanders, Dale Holshouser, Christopher Southerland and Thomas Greene.

James Funeral Home, Wrens, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
