He had served 10 years. 75 years ago: June 29, 1934 Ann "Toots" Bates of Waynesboro was named "Miss Savannah Beach" at a pageant held at the beach resort. Five masked men hijacked a Hillhouse dairy truck delivering 120 gallons of milk to Augusta. W.C. Hillhouse was the largest milk producer in the Augusta area.
