True Citizen launches weekend publication

It's coming ... tomorrow.

The True Citizen will launch its brand new weekend publication CountyLine this Friday, July 3.

The entertainment based weekly will highlight Burke County's upcoming events, food and photographs, as well as coupons to clip for big discounts at local restaurants.

CountyLine will also include on-the-street polls, recipes and lots of fun features that don't always find their place in the weekly newspaper.

The first issue, which will hit local businesses and restaurants early Friday morning, will take readers "Behind the Bang" for an insider's look at how the Waynesboro Jaycees pull off Burke County's big annual Fourth of July fireworks show.

CountyLine staffers say the publication will be more reader responsive than traditional newspapers and will provide opportunities for friends and neighbors to submit their own photographs, recipes and story ideas.

The publication, which sells for 50 cents an issue, will also be available at businesses in Richmond and Columbia counties.
