Golden China robbed Saturday night
      A Golden China employee was robbed at gunpoint while locking up Saturday night. According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Department, Daisy Lawerence was leaving the business around 10 p.m. when she was rushed and robbed by three black males with t-shirts covering their faces.

      Packing meat Two shoplifters were jailed after one of them tried to hide seven packages of meat in his pants. According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Department, Wal-Mart employees alerted officers last Tuesday night when a couple, later identified as Kenneth Bernard Johnson, 42, and Buffy Davis, 37, began acting suspiciously around the meat coolers.

Sentences handed down in Cornerstore robbery, farm equipment thefts, shooting
      A man convicted of holding his former girlfriend hostage and raping her during an hours-long standoff with authorities will spend the next quarter-century in prison. Ryan Pernack, 21, was sentenced to 25 years in prison with no chance of parole followed by probation for the remainder of his life by Superior Court Judge James G. Blanchard Jr.

Arrest made in church burglary
      A Waynesboro man has been jailed for burglary after he allegedly tried to rip off a church whose members took pity on him. According to Investigator Claude Wade of the Waynesboro Police Department, the trouble started when tools began disappearing from the social room at Calvary Tabernacle Church on Waters Street.
