The open road

Motorists who approach Waynesboro on Highway 25 North no longer have to navigate makeshift lanes to drive the final five-mile stretch. The new southbound lanes opened last Thursday, making the drive into town much smoother. The contractor, Reeves Construction, will now begin making repairs in the northbound lanes, calling for daily lane closures on that side of the median. According to Cissy McNure, of the Georgia Department of Transportation, Reeves should be finished with repair work by August.
