Girl Scout Camp

Burke County girls are invited to spend a week at summer camp, June 8-12, June 15-19 or June 22-26.The camp, located at Camp Tanglewood in Columbia County, is open to girls ages 5-17. The cost is $100 to $300, depending on the camp of choice. Some session choices include horseback riding, a performance camp, and an ecofriendly science camp. Genealogical & Historical Society

The Burke Genealogical & Historical Society will hold its annual meeting, 6 p.m., Monday, June 8 at Noah's Ark Missionary Baptist Church, 4466 Highway 80 West. This will be a covered dish dinner, and the public is invited to attend.

Free Legal Help for Senior Citizens

Georgia Legal Services Program staff will offer free legal help to senior citizens 8:45- 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, June 10 at the Waynesboro Senior Center located at 209 East 7th St., Waynesboro. Help is offered to seniors ages 60 and older with civil (non-criminal) legal issues. Clients will be taken on a firstcome, first-serve basis.

Concert Series Meeting

The Annual Meeting of Waynesboro-Burke Concert Series, Inc. will be held 6 p.m., Monday, June 8, at the Burke County Library. The meeting is open to all interested persons. For further information call president Kaye Jones at 706- 437-0070 or treasurer Nancy Buttermark at 706-437-8833.

CPR and First Aid Training

The CPR and First Aid class scheduled will be held at the Center for New Beginnings at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, 9 a.m., Friday June 5. The cost is $7 for those needing a CPR card. To register, contact Mark Wilkinson at 1-800-982-3728.

Baseball Camp

The Burke County Recreation Department will sponsor the Marchman Extra Innings Summer Baseball Camp June 22-25. The camp is open to children ages 7-12 and includes instruction in fielding, throwing, hitting, bunting, base running, pitching and catching. The cost is $35 and includes a t-shirt. Registration forms are available at the rec department and must be turned in by June 19 at 3 p.m. For more information, call 706-554-5210.

Clients Council

The local Georgia Clients Council will hold its regular monthly meeting Saturday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Forest Ridge complex. All members and new members are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Isabelle Harper at 706-437-9816.

Cheer Clinic

The Burke County High School cheerleaders will host a cheer clinic Monday-Wednesday, June 22-24, for girls ages 3-12. The clinic will run 9 a.m.-noon each day. The girls will show off the cheers, chants and dances they learn at a Petite Pep Rally at 11 a.m. on June 24. The cost of the clinic is $35 and includes a tshirt.
