Statue will honor Old Fella

From Staff Reports

This Thursday, April 30, animal lovers will gather at the city park at 10 a.m. to remember an old friend. A life-sized statue will be placed in the park to memorialize Old Fella, an adopted stray who became the namesake of the Old Fella animal rescue group. Richard Daniels, owner of the late dog, said the ceremony will be attended by Waynesboro Mayor George DeLoach, Burke County Commissioner chairman Wayne Crockett, Old Fella president Bruce Storm and other officials. All residents are invited to the event and are encouraged to bring along their pets.
