      A Waynesboro man is tired of being burglarized ... and is willing to put his money where his mouth is. According to investigator Claude Wade of the Waynesboro Police Department, the victim's Savannah Avenue home was ransacked Friday morning after burglars broke a window near the front door.

      The man responsible for causing thousands of dollars of damage to county property turned himself in after pictures of the incident were published in The True Citizen.

      Taxing discoveries Three taxpayers got big surprises when they tried to file their 2009 returns. The IRS told one Waynesboro man he owed more than $9,000 in back taxes from filings dating back to 2005. The man told police he hadn't filed taxes in three years and believes someone used his personal information to file fake claims.

Seven suspended for school fight
One arrest
      A fight at Burke County High School ended with numerous suspensions and the arrest of a Sardis teenager. According to a report filed by a Waynesboro officer who assisted campus police, the fight broke out in the mall area around 8 a.m. Thursday.
