      You should apply pre-emergence herbicides before the weeds emerge. There are two types of annual weeds. They are warm season and cools eason weeds. Cool season weeds often generate the most calls. They reach full size in early spring (March and April). At this stage is when you want to kill them, but it is very difficult if not impossible to do so.
