Celebrating its second century of existence, Georgia 4-H is hard at work "Still Keepin' It Green" with our state's youth, especially during 4-H Week Oct. 5-11. Close to 200,000 young people are in 4-H for the work, competition, record keeping and community service. And they love every minute of it.
Georgia 4-H'ers have found just what they're looking for in clubs in every county in Georgia. These clubs have activities for just about everyone ages nine and up. Youth participate in meetings, competitions, camps and special events. Adults can volunteer to help these students as they learn more about themselves, their world and how they affect each other.
4-H is the youth education component of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. County Extension agents and program assistants in every county lead the 4-H program. For more information, call Cindy Cope at the Burke Co. 4-H office at (706) 554-2119.
