The Col. John James Jones Chapter Children of the Confederacy #939 will meet 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at The Meeting Place.

Garden club

The Willing Workers Garden Club will hold its 22nd Founders Day program 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Neely Grove CME Church in Waynesboro.

Loraine "Dee Dee" Williams Ryans of Sweetwater Baptist Church of Barnwell, S.C., will be guest minister.

Luberda Jenkins, club president, invites the public. Dinner will be served.

Class of '78

The Waynesboro High School Class of 1978 will meet 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Burke County Library.

The Waynesboro Toastmasters Club will meet 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

The purpose of Toastmasters is to improve communication skills. Membership is open to anyone 18 years old or older.

The first ever Georgia Swamp Bike Rally will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, at Stoney Bluff Landing in Girard.

Gates open at 1 p.m.

World traveling, award winning tattoo artist Steve Daly will be available, and there will also be tattoo contest.

Vendors will be set up, and there will be live music.
