From the Blotter Busted with crack A 16-year-old Waynesboro boy was arrested after he showed police too much crack. According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Department, the teen was walking around Magnolia Acres last week with no shirt and sagging pants which showed most of his underwear. Chief Investigator Gene Boseman said that as a crowd gathered, the boy was told several times to pull up his pants and put on a shirt. Instead he said a few choice words and completely dropped his drawers. When officers tried to apprehend him, he ran around the neighborhood acting "facetious" and pretending it was a joke. Finally, he turned himself in on numerous charges including indecency and obstruction. Investigator Boseman said police plan to cite anyone spotted with sagging pants. "If you come to Waynesboro with your pants hanging down, we have a charge for you," he said. For first-time violations, juveniles will be officially warned and their parents notified, he said. After that, they'll be charged. Those over 16 won't get a warning. On a bad note Two men were charged with disorderly conduct after one was smacked over the head with a guitar. Officers were dispatched to an MLK Blvd. residence last Thursday when an argument between Maurice McBride, 32, and Terrance Brown, 18, turned physical. After the initial fight was over, Brown was walking down the porch steps to leave when he was whopped from behind with a guitar, the report said. While officers were interviewing McBride, Brown showed back up with a three-inch gash to his head and several friends in tow. He invited McBride to fight again - and McBride, who had a knot on his head and a cut ear, readily agreed. Officers were able to keep them apart and cited both of them after their wounds were tended. From the till A Jet Food Store employee could face criminal charges after a security camera caught her pocketing cash and giving away merchandise. According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Department, 56-year-old Irene Wimberly was videotaped taking money for cigarettes and beer but not ringing up the sales. Officers believe she also gave three packs of cigarettes to a customer but never charged for them. The thefts during that three-hour period alone were estimated at just over $30, the report said. Store officials were advised on how to obtain a warrant. Free for all Five teenagers were cited after a free-for-all on Washington Drive. Police were summoned just before midnight last Tuesday after an argument between two groups of teens escalated into blows. According to the report, Santriyana Lewis, 19, accused Jill Hughes, also 19, of striking both her and her vehicle. Kaneesha Hughes, 19, was also accused of hitting Lewis, and a 16-year-old juvenile left messages on her cell phone calling her "dead woman walking" and offering to buy caskets for her and her children. According to the report, the fight eventually spilled across the street and into a neighbor's yard. When officers arrived, Jill Hughes was arrested for property damage, disorderly conduct and probation violation; Kaneesha Hughes was charged with disorderly conduct; the juvenile was transported to a youth detention center for inciting a riot, affray and terroristic threats and acts; Lewis was charged with disorderly conduct; and another teen, also 16, was charged with disorderly conduct. All of the teens will appear in court July 28. |
