Chamber to host legislative breakfast

The Burke County Chamber of Commerce will host its second annual Legislative Breakfast on Thursday, May 22, at 8:30 a.m.

The event will be held at the Waynesboro Campus of Augusta Technical College. Numerous elected officials are expected to attend including Sen. J.B. Powell, Rep. Gloria Frazier and Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin.

Special guests will give a brief overview of legislation that was passed or is currently on the table that may affect our community, and Commissioner Irvin is expected to address the audience on current agriculture issues as well as the rising cost of food.

These presentations will be followed by an opportunity for those in attendance to ask questions. Admission to the breakfast is free, but reservations are required.
