Mutton Bustin' is Saturday

      Burke County's first ever Mutton Bustin' Championship will be held this Saturday at the Boss Hog Cook-off. The event will kick off at 11 a.m. as rough and tumble kids from all over the county straddle sheep and hold on tight.

      J ody Williams turns up the amp, and his guitar screams. The crowd goes wild. Well ... wild for Methodists, that is. They clap along and yell for more as the band belts out some Johnny Cash. Then seven voices find each other and raise the roof with "I'll Fly Away" and "Old Time Religion.

      Four Keysville residents have qualified to seek election to the city council. According to Eunice Seigle, Keysville city clerk, incumbent council members Harold Kight, Sharon Neely and Willie Mae Jones will seek reelection in July. They'll be challenged by newcomer Kathy Watts.
