McDonalds burglar suspected in robbery
By Elizabeth Billips lizbillips@yahoo.com
A Sardis man arrested for burglarizing McDonalds has become a suspect in the April 11 armed robbery of Sonic.

Around 3:40 a.m. Thursday, a 14-year-yearold living near McDonalds called police to report someone driving around the restaurant and kicking doors.

When officers arrived, they found a shattered door in the play area and Ricardo Webb, 25, inside with a hammer in his pants.

According to investigators, a pair of red gloves was found on the floor and a backpack containing assorted tools, protective glasses, a handgun and a BB pistol were found on the playground.

"Basically, it was a burglary kit," Chief Investigator Gene Boseman said.

Webb told officers all of the items belong to his cousin who fled before police arrived.

Investigators are awaiting DNA results that could link Webb to items found in connection with the Sonic robbery and a recent burglary at Mobley's Superior Cleaners.

Police say Webb has a criminal history which includes at least one burglary conviction.

He is charged with burglary and probation violation.
