Nine arrested in roadblock

The Burke County Sheriff's Office set up one of its largest roadblocks ever on Friday night along Highway 25 and then again on Highway 56, resulting in nine arrests and a first place award from the East Central Traffic Enforcement Network. At on of the checkpoints, a clear bag containing a white residue was found, above, and roadside sobriety tests were performed, right. See story on page 9A.
