From the Blotter

Chicken Little

Deputies had an odd interview with a Gough man being treated by EMA personnel.

When they first asked what was wrong, the 50-year-old said he had nothing to say but tacked on a few vulgarities for good measure.

When pressed for more information, he told officers that a chair fell from the sky and hit him on the head.

After he demanded to be left alone, others on the scene were asked to keep a close watch on him and call back if he took a turn for the worse or was "attacked by another chair."

True man

A Blythe teen was arrested Thursday after threatening a Burke County jailer.

Patric White, 19, was originally arrested on April 22 after he reported his vehicle stolen. He told officers it was taken following a gunfight at a pool hall where he and two other men had been delivering prostitutes to clients and smoking pot.

White refused to identify the other men, claiming they would all be friends again "at the end of the day," but was arrested himself when officers found brass knuckles concealed in his pocket. He was later charged with theft by taking for allegedly stealing nearly $1,500 of electronic equipment from a Blythe home.

On his third day in jail, White was charged, yet again - this time for his threats against a jailer.

According to the report, he told jailers he was innocent and "not a punk." He went on to say that when he got out, he would get his pistol and take care of them on the street "like a true man would." He was arrested for terroristic threats and acts.

Hit again

The Headstart center has been hit again.

After $20,000 in damages from thieves earlier this month, the Blakeney Street center has been vandalized.

According to the police report, seven windows were broken with rocks and gunshots.

The damages are estimated at $700.
