Waynesboro businessman Chris Sylvester has been elected chairman of the Georgia Oilmen's Association board of directors.

As chairman, Sylvester will help represent approximately 300 wholesale petroleum distributors in Georgia, including his Burke County company, A&W Oil and Tire Company.

Sylvester has been on the board of directors for seven years and has already served as director, second vice-chairman, first vice-chairman and senior vice-chairman.

As chairman, he will also head up the association's executive committee.
