Plant Vogtle's safety report open to public Thursday

      The safety report card for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant will be available for all to see Thursday. A public meeting is scheduled for noon on April 24 at the Burke County Court House in the commissioners' meeting room to discuss the plant's safety performance during 2007.

Retirement community presentation rescheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday

      Today's (Wednesday's) meeting between Hammond Development and the Academy Avenue neighborhood has been changed from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. According to Waynesboro City Administrator Jerry Coalson, the April 23 meeting was postponed at the request of homeowners who want to attend after work.
