Dinner and dance

The Sportsmen Social Club will have a dinner sale 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in front of Rowell Electric Company.

Also, the club will hold a dance that evening 10 p.m.-until, at the American Legion on Highway 80.

Diabetic teaching

A free diabetic teaching class will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Burke Medical Center.

Those participating are encouraged to bring a partner or any person who helps with food preparation.

The Brigadier General John C. Carter Camp 207 Sons of Confederate Veterans will hold its annual Confederate Memorial Day service 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the Waynesboro Confederate Cemetery.

The public is invited.

Republican party

The Burke County Republican party will meet 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Mobley's Restaurant.

Miss Augusta 2008 Laura Stone will be guest speaker.
