Democratic qualifying

The qualifying for all Democratic candidates for county offices will be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, April 28- May 1, and Friday, May 2, from 9 a.m.-noon, at Goldberg's warehouse building, located at 7 Highway 25 South in Waynesboro.

The Edmund Burke Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at The Meeting Place.

A memorial service will follow at Magnolia Cemetery at 11 a.m. A dutch lunch will be held following the memorial service at Cajun Gourmet.

UDC memorial service

The Margaret Jones Chapter No. 27 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will hold its annual memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Magnolia Cemetery.

Twenty-seven Confederate veterans will be remembered during the service.

Free legal help

Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) staff will be in Burke County to meet with senior citizens wanting free legal help on a first-come, first-serve basis.

They offer service to senior citizens 60 years of age or older with civil (non-criminal) legal issues and will be available to meet 8:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Monday, April 14, at the Waynesboro Senior Center, 717 West Sixth St., Waynesboro.

The GLSP office which serves Burke County is in Augusta at 209, Seventh St., Suite 400.
