Frog Wallow set for April 26
By Diana Royal dianar@thetruecitizen.com

Start looking for a fast hopping green friend - the fourth annual Frog Wallow Fun Fest is just a few weeks away.

Plans for the event are still underway, but organizers say they are doubling the fun this year.

Aside from the popular frog jumping contest, train and pony rides and inflatables, children can enjoy their very own car races. Adults won't be left out of the activities either - there'll be arm wrestling, a horseshoe throwing contest, sack races and much, much more.

The Frog Wallow Fun Fest will take place Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at the old S.G.A. High School in Sardis. A parade will travel through downtown Sardis at 10 a.m. with prizes being awarded to the most themerelated, most eye-catching, most creative nonprofit and best all-around floats.

It's not too late to enter the parade or to sign on as a vendor, to provide entertainment, to participate in the car show or to volunteer.

For information concerning the parade, contact Angela Tucker at 706-551-1126; vendors should call Susan Johnston at 478-569-9357; anyone wishing to provide entertainment may call Kim Reddick at 478-569-9286; or for car show information call Belinda Hamilton at 706-830- 6035.

Sheron Allen, a member of the Old Sardis School Restoration Committee, said the event has already drawn a number of vendors who'll provide food, crafts and more. Of course the famous frog legs and barbeque dinners will be available for purchase, and all proceeds will go toward the restoration of the school.

For any additional information, Allen may be reached at 706-551-0830, or call the school restoration committee office at 478-569-9482.
