Good with the bad

The Burke County High School Bears (7-5, 1-2) chalked up their first region win on the baseball diamond last week. Burke County beat Hephzibah High School 10-6 last Tuesday on the Bears' home field. Later in the week, the Bears traveled to South Effingham High School where they fell to the Mustangs 3-1. Burke County travels to Thomson High School today (Wednesday) and to Richmond Hill High School on Friday. Both games begin at 6 p.m. The Bears will take on Benedictine Military School in Savannah Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Above, Cole Thames, right, tags a South Effingham base runner as Zach Eubanks backs him up on the play.
