Spartans dominate on the court
By Diana Royal dianar@thetruecitizen.com

The Spartans continue to show impressive skills on the tennis court.

Last Thursday, they faced off against the Brentwood Eagles of Sandersville, winning all but one match.

"Some of the matches were very challenging," head coach Carol Hogan said, adding that singles player Anna Waters and doubles partners Emily Anne Bunn and Meredith Williams struggled through three sets but were able to pull out wins. "I was very proud of their determination on the court. It showed how they have matured as players. They held up under the pressure and played with the consistency needed to pull off the wins."

Hogan said doubles partners Michael White and Wilson Blanchard are also playing better each time they take the court. "They seem to be more in tune with one another," she said.

The Spartans played region foe Trinity Christian School yesterday (Tuesday), but results weren't available at press time.

On Thursday, they'll go against Brentwood again, but this time in Waynesboro, and on Monday, March 31, the two teams will try to score more region wins as they challenge Bulloch Academy in Statesboro.
