BCHS serves Hephzibah loss

Burke County High School's girls and boys tennis teams handed region losses to Hephzibah High School last week.
The Burke County girls put away the Lady Rebels 4-1 on the court. AnnNell Byne, number two singles, won her match 8-4, and Jasmine Lewis was 8- 3 in number three singles.
Number one doubles duo Hailey Larmour and Mary Kate Holland won 8-2, as did the number two doubles pair Mandy Frazier and Savannah Weirsma.
The Burke County boys beat the Rebels 3-2.
Michael Thigpen won number three singles 8-2, and Chris Crozier and Lawton Rhodes took number one doubles 8-4. Steven Farmer and Joel Copper claimed a number two doubles victory 8-3.
Burke County plays its next two matches, both against region opponents, at home on Saturday, March 29. The Bears will face South Effingham High School at noon and follow up with a match against Richmond Hill High School at 2 p.m.
