Comments from our readers:

• I would like to know when the City of Waynesboro is ever going to finish up their mess on Dogwood Drive. It is not only dangerous but an eyesore as well.

• Congratulations to Good Day Café for last weekend's wine tasting and dinner. Keep the creativity coming!

• I agree with the comment made last week about Mayor George DeLoach's old restaurant. He should be setting a good example for the rest of Waynesboro instead of seeing what he can get away with just because he got elected.

• Our Pledge (promise, vow, swear, guarantee, assure, vouch) of Allegiance (loyalty, commitment, adherence, faithfulness, duty) to the Flag of the United States of America has deep, patriotic meaning to many of us. The manager of Bi-Lo has shown his promise (Pledge) of commitment (Allegiance) by purchasing for sale the American Stars and Stripes banners made in the USA! I refuse to buy Old Glory representations made in China. Thank you, Bi-Lo!

• The person who wrote about the mayor cleaning up his property is right. The broken windows, stained sign and littered parking lot make that whole side of town look terrible.

• Thanks to The True Citizen for posting all your sports photos online. My high school athletes and I are really enjoying it.

• If John McCain's preacher said what Barack Obama's preacher said, he'd be out of the running. Wake up America. Obama is a phony.
