RFD
By Bonnie K. Taylor General Manager The True Citizen

We received a Letter to the Editor a few weeks ago requesting letters written to our soldiers serving in the Middle East.

Linda Kitchens wrote, "I am trying to find people that will write letters to soldiers to let them know how much we appreciate them.

"Listed below is one that could use some cheering up with a thank you card, letter of appreciation. We have lost 127soldiers in Georgia so far and they need our support.

"We have lost 3990 soldiers total, 3263 soldiers in combat with 29,000 soldiers wounded.

"We are standing on solid ground and hopefully we can take a few minutes for someone across the world away from home. I am also taking up Christmas wreaths to put on veteran's graves at Christmas if anyone would like to help."

Send your letters to: SSG. John H. KLOS, C. Company, 4-3 AV BN 31D CAB, APO AE 09322-3411.

I realize letter writing is not as fashionable as it used to be, but taking time to do this important task will do as much good for you as it will our soliders.

If you don't have time, encourage your children to write a letter or letters.

A former classmate of mine, Mike Lutes, is in the hospital in Charlotee, N.C. He is not doing well and I know if I could speak for him, he would covet your prayers.

A few weeks ago I wrote that Mike needed a ride to the hospital in Charlotte.

He called on Thursday after The True Citizen went out on a Wednesday to say, "thank you." Three folks called offering him his much-needed transportation.

During the past years, Mike has undergone two liver transplants. Since that time he has been in and out of the hospital and his day-to day functions have been limited due to his poor health.

He has told me many times he is thankful for the extra days the Lord has allowed him to live.
