Burglars busted by angry girlfriend
By Elizabeth Billips lizbillips@yahoo.com

Two teenage burglars are behind bars, thanks to a digital photograph and an angry girlfriend.

Lamar Coleman, 17, and Jamal Anfield, 19, were arrested last Thursday when deputies found stolen goods hidden in holes and trenches behind the former's Moxleyville Road home.

According to Sgt. Dan Lowe of the Burke County Sheriff's Office, trouble began for the pair when Coleman asked his girlfriend to take a look at a malfunctioning digital camera.

She got the camera to work but wasn't too happy when she scrolled through the photographs and realized they were of a recently burglarized family.

"She knew the camera was stolen," Sgt. Lowe said. "So she threw Coleman and his stuff out ... then she told the victims."

After deputies got word, they searched a field behind Coleman's property and found bags and boxes "stacked neatly" beneath a pile of tree limbs, as well as another bag in a trench.

They also recovered some stolen electronic equipment that was stowed in a laundry basket near the home.

Among the stashed goods were two guns, including one that was reported stolen.

Coleman later turned himself in at his girlfriend's insistence, Sgt. Lowe said, and provided information that led investigators to Anfield, his alleged accomplice, who also goes by the name of Jamol Cuyler.

Both men are charged with the March 11 burglary of a Blythe home on Sycamore Lane.

Anfield was also arrested for two recent burglaries in Jefferson County, including one in which Coleman is also charged.

Coleman was additionally charged with theft by receiving property for a stolen PlayStation Anfield allegedly gave him.
