Dead inmate, injured deputy identified
The inmate killed in a wreck this morning has been identified as Landrell Marquette Kyler.
He died around 8:15 a.m. when a tractor trailer ran the stopsign at Hwy 56 South and Rosier/Byne Sunshine Road and slammed into a Richmond County patrol car transporting him and inmate Justyn Brandon Creque.
Both inmates were ejected from the car, and Deputy Key was trapped inside.
Creque and Key were transported to MCG Health with serious injuries.
The truck driver, Shandrell Morgan, was treated for minor injuries.
