Betty Trull Stewart Blackstone

Waynesboro, GA – Betty Trull Stewart Blackstone, 73, entered into rest Monday, March 31, 2008, at Brentwood Terrace Health Center. A native of Odum, GA, she was born September 1, 1934 to the late Norman P. and Addie Calhoun Trull. She worked at the Burke County Extension Office for several years; then worked as an Apartment Complex Manager at Briarwood Apartments for 15 years. She was a volunteer for the 4-H Club and was very active in community events. She was a charter member of Rosemont Heights Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class. 
 
Family members include her husband, Joseph P. Blackstone, Sr., seven children, Michael Stewart (Donna) of Richmond Hill, GA, Carla Cobb of Waynesboro, Mickey Stewart (Sandra) of Waynesboro, Terri Williford (Tommy) of Waynesboro, Jerrell Bailey (John) of Douglas, GA, Jeffery Blackstone (Judy) of Hephzibah, and Pat Blackstone of Waynesboro; sister, Ms. Iris Merritt of Jesup, GA; brother, D. K. Trull of Brunswick, GA; and her twin brother, Bobby Trull of Odum, GA; thirteen grandchildren, Kevin Stewart, Bill Cobb (Christy), Bobby Cobb (Sheila), Chris Stewart, John Paul Cates, Maggie Nehlsen, Jamey Williford, Tiffani Williford, Rhett Bailey, Bren Bailey, Shelbi Bailey, Jeremy Blackstone, and Jenna Blackstone; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Cobb; many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Ms. Louise Womack, Brenda Turner, and Danny Whitton.
 
The family received friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro. 
 
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Rosemont Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Blackstone will lie-in-state from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Rev. Keith Alderman will be officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bill Cobb, Kevin Stewart, Chris Stewart, Bobby Cobb, Jamey Williford, Rhett Bailey, and Jeremy Blackstone. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Ruth Sunday School Class.
 
Flowers are being accepted; however, memorials may be made to Follow-the-Vision Building Fund, 710 Stone Avenue, Waynesboro, GA 30830, which is Rosemont Heights Building Fund.
