The Bears blew Lakeside High School away last week in track and field when Burke County's boys tallied more than three times as many points as the Columbia County school.
The Bears earned 137 points to the Panthers' 37 and claimed 13 first-place finishes.
Among those winners were Damion Johnson, who recorded his season's best in both the long jump and triple jump, and Brandon Brown, who ran his best time ever in the 200-meter dash.
Damany Coleman also chalked up his best time in the 300-meter hurdles.
The Lady Bears also handed the school a loss, beating the Lady Panthers 71-61.
Antornia Walker measured her farthest yet in the long jump at 16 feet-2 ¼ inches, and Nina Walker claimed a top finish running the 300-meter hurdles for the first time.
"It was a great meet for both squads," coach Purvis Dukes said. "We had several kids to improve their times and distances in field events. We are excited because as the weather gets warmer, there will be more improvements."
He pointed out that Cornelius Washington managed a first-place finish in the 100 despite nursing a back injury that kept him from competing in the 200. He looks for Washington to be back at full speed this week.
Dukes said the girls, many of whom are either freshmen or sophomores, continue to improve at each meet.
