Livestock killed by vicious pets
By Elizabeth Billips lizbillips@yahoo.com

Livestock killings by vicious dogs were reported by two Burke County residents last week.

One man told deputies he walked outside his Sardis home to find a hog dead in its pen with a black dog standing next to it. Another pig was missing.

The dog was let out and depu- ties watched as it ran to a neighboring home where it is believed to live.

In an unrelated case last Thursday, a Blythe woman reported that a neighbor's dogs attacked and killed her goats.

She said she heard a goat screaming and went outside to find two brown dogs attacking her livestock. The dogs ran away through a large hole they'd dug at her back fence.

When the reporting officer was inspecting the damage, one of the dogs, described as wet and foamy around the face, walked back to the hole and growled at him.

According to the report, two goats were killed and another was injured.
